New dates announced for 2026 LPL tournament

Sri Lanka’s premier domestic T20 tournament, the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2026, is scheduled to be held from July 10 to August 5, 2026, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced.

The 6th edition of the tournament will be played across four venues:

• Singhalese Sports Club Ground
• R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium
• Pallekele International Cricket Stadium
• Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium

Meanwhile, the online portal for foreign player registration will open on May 4, SLC confirmed.

The tournament will be organized by Sri Lanka Cricket, the owner of the LPL, in collaboration with The IPG Group, which holds the commercial rights of the event.

First launched in 2020, the Lanka Premier League has grown into Sri Lanka’s leading domestic T20 competition with an international appeal.

SLC Executive Committee member Samantha Dodanwela will continue to serve as the Tournament Director for this edition as well.
