Sri Lanka ended the second Test between India and Sri Lanka at the SSC Stadium in Colombo with a win and a draw.
After India declared their first innings at 503 for 9, Sri Lanka were all out for 290. India then allowed Sri Lanka to bat again.
However, in the second innings, the Sri Lankan batsmen showed great patience and the Indian bowlers were forced to bowl for a long time. Sri Lanka declared their innings at 429 for 9.
The main hero of the Sri Lankan innings was Sonal Dinhosha. He scored 103 runs in the first innings and scored 133 not out in the second innings. Accordingly, he became the best batsman of the match by scoring centuries in both innings.
This was also the third century scored by Dinusha in his last four Test innings. He made a huge contribution to the Sri Lankan innings, facing 426 balls throughout the match.
In the second innings, Keshara Nuwantha built a partnership of 112 runs with Dinusha, while Prabath Jayasuriya and Lahiru Kumara also provided important support from the lower order.
In particular, Lahiru Kumara's stay at the wicket for almost two hours, scoring 12 runs from 90 balls, was very important for Sri Lanka to save the match. He and Dinusha also built a partnership of 47 runs.
Among the Indian bowlers, Manav Suthar and Ravindra Jadeja took 3 wickets each, but the slow nature of the SSC pitch made it a tough task for them to break the Sri Lankan batsmen on the final day.
India bowled Sri Lanka 243.4 overs in the second innings, and the Indian spinners struggled throughout the match.
In the final over, Dinusha and Asitha Fernando kept their wickets for 56 balls, and Sri Lanka took a lead of 216 runs, and the match ended in a draw.
Sonal Dinusha, who had performed brilliantly throughout the tournament, finished the tournament with 419 runs and a mammoth average of 139.66.
