Sri Lanka opener Pathum Nissanka has moved up three places to third in the ICC Men's T20I rankings after his brilliant century against Australia in a Group B match of the T20 World Cup in Kandy on Monday (16).
Nissanka smashed a crucial century off 52 balls as Sri Lanka defeated Australia by eight wickets to qualify for the Super Eights after chasing 182.
Nissanka, the first century scorer in the 2026 T20 World Cup, finished unbeaten with five sixes and 10 fours.
It was also Nissanka's second T20I century, making him the first Sri Lankan batsman to score two centuries in the format.
Following his brilliant innings, Pathum Nissanka moved up to third place in the rankings with 786 rating points, ahead of India's Tilak Verma and Pakistan's Sahibzada Farhan. India's Abhishek Sharma is at the top of the T20I batsmen rankings with 891 points, followed by England's Phil Salt at second.
